This was announced on Thursday, December 16, by the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for international cooperation in the field of information security, director of the department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Andrei Krutskikh.
“The war is going on, and it is going on very intensively, and no matter how we try to say that all this is disguised … In fact, military actions in cyberspace are going on a full scale. And in general, the media correctly say that this is already the third world war, only the question now is in calculating the damage… “.
On December 7, the leaders of the Russian Federation and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, held talks behind closed doors via a secure video link. According to the Russian president, the conversation was open and constructive, and dialogue was established on the issue of cybersecurity.
On December 6, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution by Russia and the United States. The document speaks of the need to oppose the use of IT technologies for criminal and terrorist purposes.
Earlier, on July 16, Putin and Biden met in Geneva, where they agreed to begin consultations on cybersecurity. The Russian leader drew attention to the fact that, even according to American sources, most cyberattacks in the world are carried out from the United States, as well as from Canada and the United Kingdom. He also stressed that Moscow has provided comprehensive answers to all Washington’s cyber-attack requests.
