Igor Fitz, an analyst at the center for monitoring and responding to incidents of information security Jet CSIRT of Jet Infosystems, spoke about the danger of disclosing the owner’s data by his phone number.
Fraudsters can get almost any personal information, knowing the mobile phone number – full name, address of residence, access to a bank account, photos, reports the Prime agency.
This is because citizens have to associate numbers with applications, many of which ignore the protection of customer privacy. Personal information can end up on the darknet, and then into the hands of scammers.
The mobile applications of the Telegram and WhatsApp messengers also give scammers loopholes to obtain the full name, profile photo of the user, if he has independently posted this data in his account.
The expert believes that it is not worth publishing personal information on the Internet, this endangers not only the user but also his environment.
